Backpacking Gear List

There is no definitive list of gear that is appropriate for all backpacking trips.   One must take into consideration the length of the trip, the terrain, and weather.   In addition, it is reasonable to share the load with the rest of your patrol.   The Boy Scout Handbook provides an excellent discussion on equipment.
