Day Hike/Cookout at Lebanon Hills
January 25, 2003
During the month
of January 2003, Troop 449 enjoyed a Day Hike and Cookout at Lebanon Hills in
Eagan, Minnesota.
During this
event the Troop had three objectives:
1. To teach the younger Scouts Orienteering Skills.
2. To sharpen the Troop’s skill
at preparing meals over an open fire.
3. And …….. to have an enjoyable
hike in this beautiful Park.
The Scouts
arrived at Lebanon Hills at approximately 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, January 25th,
and began to hike to the A-Frame where they built fires and prepared their
lunch. Each Patrol had their own menu and cooked their entrees over an open
fire. After the Troop enjoyed an excellent lunch they assembled and began the
hike. Caution Tapes had been placed at various locations the prior week by some
of the senior Scouts and Leaders. It was now the job the younger Scouts to
demonstrate their orienteering skills and find these tapes. After all of the
tapes had been found the group returned to the vehicles and proceeded home. It
was a great outing!!!
Now the
best part, the pictures!!! Enjoy!!ll!
